Yamaha has trademarked the ‘Tracer’ name in India. For those who may not know, Yamaha sells two sports tourers under the Tracer brand across several international markets. As per rumours, Yamaha could actually be deciding to bring the Tracer 700 or 900 in India, or the Japanese automaker could also introduce a smaller Tracer, probably the Tracer 250.However, just because Yamaha has trademarked the Tracer name for India, doesn't mean that the sport-tourer is guaranteed to come to Indian shores. Companies very often file for multiple trademarks across several markets strategic and marketing purposes.
Sports tourer and adventure bikes are all the rage at the moment, particularly due to their high ground clearance, better ergonomics, and comfortable seat for long touring. Details about the new motorcycles are yet to be revealed. As of now, the Japanese two-wheeler maker is gearing up for the launch of the new FZ-X 150cc retro-styled naked motorcycle in the Indian market.
